HACKS TO MAKE YOUR MOVE EASY

Moving has never been easy for anyone. It comes with a lot of stress, tiredness, endless trips to make and million things to pack. It can be very overwhelming most of the times. The whole cycle of packing and moving can be very difficult. However it shouldn’t be like that.

So here we will provide you with some hacks that will make your moving easy and smooth.

·         ORGANIZE EARLY: Start packing everything from day 1. Do not leave anything for the last minute packing. Try and take 15-20 days as a time frame and start packing every day. Pack the items you need first in a clear plastic bin. This includes things like a box cutter, paper towels, trash bags, eating utensils, select cookware, power strips, phone chargers, toilet paper, tools, etc. The clear bin allows you to see inside; it also separates itself from the myriad of cardboard boxes.

·         FIND MOVING BOXES FOR FREE: You don’t always have to buy the moving boxes. There are many places that will give you the moving boxes free. In terms of size and choice it’s best to contact a furniture store. A quick search in the free section of Craigslist can also help you. Other places may include Liquor stores, Grocery stores, Book stores, U-Haul Box exchange etc.

·         PACK THE CLOTHES WITH THE HANGERS: Do not take clothes off the hanger. Instead just slide them in a big box or a big garbage bag. Make sure to choose a big garbage bag to prevent clothes from wrinkling while in transit. This will make the unpacking super easy.

·         WRAP UP THE BREAKABLE ITEMS IN CLOTHING: To save up on the bubble wrap you can wrap the breakable items of your house like dishes, glasses etc in a cloth. For extra safety and padding pack your glasses and stemware in socks.

·         LABEL EVERYTHING: Label all sides of the boxes, avoid the top. Try labeling each side of the boxes so you can easily find what you need when you unpack. You can also try color coding your boxes. Designate a color for everything you have. From clothes to silverware and cleaning products. This way, you’ll know where everything is without having to rummage through every single box. Also in addition to labeling you can also add what room they’ll be going into. This will make your job very easy when you arrive at your new home.

·         KEEP THE TOILETRIES IN SEPARATE BOX: There is always a huge chance that you will not be able to unpack everything the first day you move. So you need to make sure that you atleast pack your basic and important toiletries in a separate bag which is easily accessible to you.

·         PROTECT YOUR COSMETICS WITH COTTON: Place an extra cotton pad or cotton ball into your powder cosmetics to keep them from breaking.
